Charlotte was a servant/housekeeper for many years for Ansil HAWKINS, a lawyer in Starksboro. She was on the 1850, 1860, and 1870 census as living with Ansil and Sarah HAWKINS. In 1880, 1900, and 1910 she was living in her own home with her brother William MEAD.
Sarah J. MEAD, who married Ansil HAWKINS between 1845 and 1850 was likely Charlotte's sister. On the 1870 census Martin MEAD was also living with Ansil and Sarah HAWKINS.
