Welcome to the Starksboro Village Meeting House

The Meeting House, located in the center of the Village of Starksboro, Vermont, is at the center of Starksboro, Vermont's rich history.

Starksboro Village Meeting House - Lighting of the Chandelier by Kevin Hanson, the grandson of Ruth Carpenter Hanson who spearheaded a group of Starksboro residents to acquire the Meeting House and preserve it for future generations in 1957.

A tradition since the 1960's, the service is held in a sanctuary where electric lights are a secondary way to light the space. The primary light source is a kerosene lamp chandelier.

The non-denominational service, will be a program of lessons and carols, also featuring other special music.

The service is centered around the Christmas Story and the popular candle lighting ceremony in a sanctuary where little has changed from when it was last used as an active Church in the early 1900's, offering a nostalgic glimpse into the past.

Help Renovate the Starksboro Cooperative Preschool which has been in operation for 50 years as a top-quality child care and early education center for the children of Starksboro and surrounding towns.

The Meeting House is an active part of Starksboro today, sponsoring local events, fundraisers, and home of the Starksboro Cooperative Preschool.

The Starksboro Village Meeting House Society is the proud publisher of Bertha's Book - A View of Starksboro's History.
The first published history of Starksboro, Vermont.
