Sugar on Snow Parties have been a Starksboro Meeting House tradition since revitalization efforts began in the 1950's.
Originally these parties were put on in the basement of the Meeting House. They were an immediate success as people came as much for Olive Hanson's home made cider donuts as the sugar on snow.
As popularity grew, the parties were moved to the Town Hall, where they were held for many years.
Then for a while at the Baptist Church.
Today, they are part of a Town wide event at the
Starksboro Village Center with a variety of family friendly activities.
The Sugar on Snow Party is in March as part of the Starksboro Maple Sugar Producers open sugar house weekend.
