The Belfry
The siding on the upper section of the belfry is "Masonite" clapboards in poor condition and not capable of holding paint. Roofing on the belfry, now almost 30 years old, it is in poor condition and starting to leak.
These repairs are the current priority of the Board. Work on the belfry is expensive due to staging needs. The
work has been broken out into phases due to the high cost of this type
of work.
The first phase, which is to repair and stabilize the
lower original section of the belfry, was completed in the summer of
2007 at a cost of $12,000.
The second phase which is to repair and stabilize the
upper section is awaiting funding. The cost of this work is
estimated at between $35,000 and $40,000.
