Does anyone know of any living male descendant(s) of Samuel Thompson (1777-1854) who would be interested in having a DNA test done at my expense?

Hi
If you mean the Samuel Thompson who died in Starksboro in 1854, I can put you in touch with living descendants. Actually they want to know if anyone knows where he is buried. In regard to the DNA thing, the descendant I know is female, but I know she has a brother, and I think there might be some male cousins too.

Moderator: I tried to email JA direct, but it would not go through. It made a reference to an anti-spam question I had to answer, but I could not find any such thing, using the back button, etc.
Anyway if you have the ability to email him, please do so. Thanks much.

Jeff, I am decended from Samuel & Miriam Thompson. Haven't found
his parents in NH. Do you think this test will help do that?

At this point, I am starting from scratch and will see if I can get DNA samples from other branches of descendants of Samuel and Mary (Bartlett) Thompson to see if Samuel of Starksboro is from this Thompson line or from one of the many other different Thompson lines in NH at that time.
My best guess is that Samuel Thompson (1777-1854) of Starksboro, Vt was either the son of Samuel and Catherine (Tucker) Thompson, born 1777 in Kingston, NH, or the son of Moses and Joanna (Page) Thompson, born 1777 Deerfield, NH. Either way, the two share the same grandparents, Samuel and Mary (Bartlett) Thompson.
Anyone having any shread of information that would eventually help solve this mystery, is strongly encouraged to respond. I will be honest in saying that I have not scoured land records in any of these locations to see what clues they may provide. Thanks, Jeff

I have submitted my uncle's DNA to ancestry.com, Family Tree DNA, and the Thompson Project.

My uncle is John Dee Thompson (1928 - ), son of Dora Wrenfrow and
Benjamin Ellison Thompson (1876 - 1961), son of Virginia Fuss and
Benjamin Ellison Thompson (1846 - 1911), son of Emily Adeline Mason and
Benjamin Ellison Thompson (1822 - 1846), son of Miriam Mason and
Samuel Thompson (1777 - 1854)

The last three are buried at Mason Hill Cemetery in Starksboro, VT.

My uncle did some research and thinks that Samuel is a son of William Thompson, but there's no real proof, so I, too, and looking for the parents of Samuel Thompson.
